- 11.5 lbs lean ground turkey
- 21 head butter lettuce, leaves separated
- 31 cup shredded carrots
- 4½ cup water chestnuts, diced
- 53 cloves garlic, minced
- 61 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
- 73 tablespoons hoisin sauce
- 82 tablespoons soy sauce
- 91 tablespoon sesame oil
- 101 tablespoon rice vinegar
- 11½ teaspoon red pepper flakes
- 122 tablespoons vegetable oil
- 13Sesame seeds and green onions for garnish
Instructions
- 1
Heat vegetable oil in a large skillet over high heat. Add ground turkey and cook, breaking into small crumbles, for 6–8 minutes until browned and cooked through, with some crispy bits forming.
- 2
Add garlic and ginger, stir-frying 1 minute. Mix hoisin, soy sauce, sesame oil, rice vinegar, and red pepper flakes. Pour over turkey and stir to coat. Cook 2 minutes until sauce is absorbed and the turkey is sticky and fragrant.
- 3
Stir in water chestnuts for the final minute — they add a surprising crunch that elevates the whole dish.
- 4
Arrange butter lettuce leaves as cups on a platter. Fill with turkey mixture, top with shredded carrots, sesame seeds, and green onions. Each person assembles their own wraps. The contrast of warm, savory turkey in cool, crisp lettuce is absolutely addictive.
