- 14 lbs pork shoulder
- 22 tablespoons smoked paprika
- 31 tablespoon brown sugar
- 41 tablespoon garlic powder
- 51 tablespoon onion powder
- 61 teaspoon cumin
- 71 teaspoon cayenne
- 8Salt and black pepper to taste
- 91 cup chicken broth
- 101.5 cups BBQ sauce
- 1112 slider buns
- 12Coleslaw for serving
Instructions
- 1
Mix smoked paprika, brown sugar, garlic powder, onion powder, cumin, cayenne, salt, and pepper into a dry rub. Coat pork shoulder on all sides, pressing firmly so the rub adheres.
- 2
Place the rubbed pork in a slow cooker with chicken broth and half the BBQ sauce. Cook on LOW 8–10 hours or HIGH 5–6 hours until the pork is completely fall-apart tender — it should shred effortlessly with two forks. Patience here is rewarded.
- 3
Remove pork and shred into large, rustic strands. Skim fat from cooking liquid and stir remaining BBQ sauce into the cooking liquid. Pour this smoky, concentrated sauce over the shredded pork and toss to coat.
- 4
Pile pulled pork generously onto slider buns and top with creamy coleslaw. The cool, crunchy slaw contrasts perfectly with the warm, smoky pork. Serve with extra BBQ sauce and pickles on the side.
