    Preheat oven to 400°F. Place the block of feta in the center of a small baking dish or cast-iron skillet. Scatter cherry tomatoes and garlic around the feta.

    Drizzle olive oil over the feta and tomatoes, then sprinkle with oregano, red pepper flakes, and black pepper. The olive oil will help the tomatoes blister and the feta soften.

    Bake at 400°F for 25–30 minutes until the tomatoes have burst and become jammy, the garlic is golden and soft, and the feta has softened and begun to turn golden at the edges.

    Remove from oven and immediately tear fresh basil leaves over the top — the heat will release their fragrance. Serve immediately from the baking dish with crusty bread or pita to scoop up the creamy, salty feta and sweet tomato sauce.
