- 2½ cup apple cider vinegar
- 3¼ cup brown sugar
- 4¼ cup honey
- 52 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 61 tablespoon Dijon mustard
- 71 tablespoon smoked paprika
- 82 teaspoons garlic powder
- 91 teaspoon onion powder
- 101 teaspoon black pepper
- 11½ teaspoon cayenne pepper
- 12½ teaspoon cumin
- 13½ teaspoon salt

Combine ketchup, apple cider vinegar, brown sugar, honey, Worcestershire sauce, and Dijon mustard in a medium saucepan over medium heat. Whisk until smooth.

Add smoked paprika, garlic powder, onion powder, black pepper, cayenne, cumin, and salt. Bring to a gentle simmer over medium heat, stirring occasionally. Reduce heat to low and simmer 20–25 minutes, stirring every few minutes, until the sauce has thickened enough to coat the back of a spoon and the flavors have deepened and melded.

Remove from heat and stir in butter until melted — this adds gloss and richness. Taste and adjust: add more vinegar for tang, more honey for sweetness, more cayenne for heat. Cool completely before storing in an airtight jar in the refrigerator for up to 3 weeks.
