- 12 lbs beef sirloin, sliced into thin strips
- 23 tbsp groundnut (peanut) oil
- 33 tbsp suya spice (or: 2 tbsp ground peanuts, 1 tsp cayenne, 1 tsp paprika, 1/2 tsp ginger, 1/2 tsp garlic powder, 1/2 tsp onion powder)
- 41 tsp salt
- 5Wooden skewers, soaked
- 6Sliced onions, tomatoes, and cucumber for serving

If making suya spice from scratch: Toast ground peanuts in a dry pan for 2 minutes. Mix with cayenne, paprika, ginger, garlic powder, and onion powder.

Toss beef strips with peanut oil and salt. Then coat generously with suya spice, pressing it into the meat.

Thread beef strips onto soaked wooden skewers, weaving them on in a flat zigzag pattern.

Preheat grill or broiler to high heat.

Grill skewers for 3-4 minutes per side until charred at the edges but still juicy inside.

Sprinkle extra suya spice over the hot skewers.
